HanziHeart peels a Chinese line open the way a fluent friend would — from the words to the feeling.
Literal
The word-for-word meaning, so you can see the building blocks of the line.
Natural
What a fluent speaker would actually take the line to mean in everyday conversation.
Subtext
The cultural and emotional read between the lines — the part a dictionary never tells you.
Reply & Heat
A suggested response in the right register, with the tone placed on the Heat meter from warm to loaded.
Questions
What is HanziHeart?
HanziHeart is a Mandarin reading companion for real moments — dating, family, travel, C-dramas, everyday chats. It reads what a Chinese line really means: the literal words, the natural read, the cultural subtext, the tone, and what to say back.
How is this different from a translator?
A translator gives you the words. HanziHeart gives you the meaning underneath — the social and emotional subtext, plus a reply in the right tone. The problem it solves isn’t vocabulary, it’s knowing what a line actually means and how to respond.
Where do the lines come from?
Paste or type a line, or import a screenshot from apps like RED (Xiaohongshu), WeChat, or Douyin and HanziHeart pulls the Chinese text out of it for you.
Are my screenshots private?
Yes. Screenshot reading runs entirely on your device using Apple Vision — the image never leaves your phone and is never uploaded. Only the text you choose to read is sent to our backend to generate the read. See the Privacy Policy for detail.
What will it cost?
HanziHeart will offer a subscription. Price, any free trial, and renewal terms are always shown before purchase in the app and by the relevant app store. See Support for how subscriptions work.
Which devices does it support?
HanziHeart is coming to iPhone and Android. On-device screenshot reading is available on iPhone first (iOS 16 or later), with Android to follow — you can always paste or type a line on either platform.
